as if the sun sleeps between
and we have no choice but to encircle
and never touch, out
of fear to mute and dilute
what we are

I’ve always enjoyed the push and pull of complementary colours. How, at an initial glance, a full fusion would result in a grey, muted color, but with care and minimal mixture, it only dulls or, enhances, depending on perspective.
